CEO
Jeroen Tas is an internationally recognized innovation leader and technology investor. In the 1990s, he developed the world’s first internet banking and payment networks at Citi. As a co-founder of Mphasis, he grew the company into an IT services provider worth several billion dollars. Later, as Chief Innovation & Strategy Officer at Philips, he led the development of digital healthcare solutions that reached billions of people and contributed to affordable healthcare. Today, Jeroen advises several boards of directors and invests in technology and healthcare innovations through his firm FastSlow.
Why do most organizations fail to achieve structural innovation, despite having the resources and talent? Europe possesses enormous innovative power, but risk aversion, unnecessary complexity, and over-regulation keep many companies trapped in old routines. New technologies, disruptive business models, and collaborative ecosystems require leadership that dares to experiment and makes strategic choices that truly impact.
During the COVID crisis, Philips transformed at lightning speed. Jeroen Tas was Chief Innovation & Strategy Officer at the time. Supply chains were adjusted within days, teams were given autonomy, and digital solutions were rapidly deployed. When the crisis ended, many things reverted to old patterns. The question of why these changes weren’t permanent inspired Jeroen to write his book Changing Fast & Slow.
During the Boardroom Dinner, he discusses leadership in dynamic ecosystems, the power of collaboration and trust, and how an abundance mindset opens new opportunities. Andries Verder, CEO of the Verder Group, will reflect on Jeroen’s story from a practical perspective. After the presentation, there will be ample opportunity for discussion with Jeroen, Andries, and fellow executives.
