Renée Jones-Bos has a long and distinguished career in international relations and diplomacy. Over several decades, she gained extensive experience within the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, holding senior roles in The Hague and abroad, including postings in Washington, Moscow, Prague, Dhaka and Paramaribo.
She served as Ambassador to the United States (2007–2012) and Russia (2016–2019), and was Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2012–2016). Throughout her career, she was closely involved in shaping Dutch foreign policy, international cooperation and diplomacy at the highest level, working on issues ranging from economic diplomacy and security to human rights and multilateral affairs.
Renée currently serves as a Non-Executive Director at Urenco and holds various board and advisory roles, including positions at Royal Boskalis, Rijk Zwaan, and The Hague Centre for Strategic Studies. Through these activities, she remains highly engaged across government, the private sector, and the non-profit sector, with a focus on strengthening connections between the public and private domains.
