In her role as CISO & CPO, Astrid is responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing the strategy in the areas of cybersecurity, privacy, and business continuity. She is also a member of the CISO and CPO councils. Before joining UWV, she served as CISO at GGD Zaanstreek-Waterland and held various positions in the private sector at companies including NetApp, Cisco, and Verizon Enterprise Solutions.

With more than 60,000 endpoints, 1,200 servers and 200 business applications, UWV faces an enormous challenge: protecting sensitive personal data in an increasingly complex threat landscape. At the same time, the organization is in the midst of a major transformation, with which UWV wants to become more agile and effective. Astrid shares how, in this dynamic environment, she finds the balance between operational continuity and strategic renewal. She also elaborates on the governance and compliance structure that serve as a license to operate, and on the crucial role of awareness and organizational culture in increasing security maturity.
