ABN AMRO has been on a compelling journey with (Gen)AI for several years, during which the organization has moved from experimentation to delivering impact at scale. What began with individual use cases has since evolved into something much larger: a bank-wide transformation driven by AI. During this session, Hiek van der Scheer, Chief Data Officer at ABN AMRO, will share first-hand insights into how this development is taking shape within the organization and the steps being taken to successfully implement AI at scale.

Today’s focus is on AI transformation and embedding AI into the core of business operations. Rather than developing separate, ad-hoc use cases, AI is increasingly becoming an integral part of the strategy, influencing how products, services, and decisions are designed and realized. This development marks a significant shift: from quick wins and isolated pilots to a structured, strategic approach where AI is fully integrated into the bank’s way of working.
Hiek’s presentation will serve as the foundation for an interactive discussion on the challenges associated with this transformation into an AI-driven organization. This includes topics such as scaling AI responsibly, rethinking governance, implementing AI solutions, and developing an AI-ready organization. You are cordially invited to join the conversation and share your own experiences, insights, and challenges.
