During this small-scale executive roundtable, Thijs Voogt, Head of Data & AI at Lely, will share lessons from building Lely’s global Data & AI capabilities from the ground up and scaling them across the organisation. His introduction will set the stage for a peer conversation with a select group of senior data leaders on how to move from experimentation to measurable impact, how to organise and govern data and AI effectively, how to prioritise investments and drive adoption across the business, and how to balance long-term direction with the rapid pace of technological change.

Head of Data & AI
Thijs Voogt is Head of Data & AI at Lely, where he leads the company’s global data and AI strategy. Previously at KPN, he held senior leadership roles in Data & Analytics, building and scaling advanced analytics and AI teams from scratch, implementing end-to-end machine learning use cases, reshaping data infrastructure, and establishing data governance and quality practices. Thijs combines deep technical expertise with pragmatic business insight to turn data into actionable value across organisations.
Lely has evolved from a traditional agricultural machinery manufacturer into a global leader in data-driven dairy farming, supporting more than 44.000 farms in over 50 countries. At the core of this transformation is a shift toward software, data and AI: automated systems such as milking robots, feeding and manure solutions generate large volumes of operational data that are used to optimise farm performance, animal welfare and sustainability. New capabilities, including intelligent barn monitoring and predictive algorithms, continue to expand how data is captured and translated into insights and digital products.
